The Thanksgiving Shawl was designed when we were invited to try Renaissance Dyeing's lovely yarns made in time-honoured ways using natural dyeing methods. What was particularly valued in these wools was the close palette of shades produced in each colourway.
The border is an interpretation of the American Bald Eagle feather.
This is a really pretty light shawl that makes an intriguing knitting project, the border's rhythmic repetition of pattern stitch is particularly relaxing and lovely to enjoy as the developing sequence of colours relate to each other.
Full written directions are given as well as charts for this design making it a good first 'lace knitting' project.
