The Cameron Shawl is my second completely lace knitted 1 ply shawl. It measures approx. 64 inches / 160 cm square and is knitted in the new 1 ply Cobweb Ultra.

This shawl uses traditional Shetland motifs in the desgin, the centre square is an all-over of Madeira and Diamond, the borders feature large Tree of Life motifs and Diamonds of Strawberries, Beads and Eyelids. The edging is a Vandyke Lace.

The shawl is knitted outwards, and was made using a circular needle. The centre square is worked first and then the borders knitted outwards, either all four at once (knitted in the round) or each border could be made separately (flat knitted with straight needles) before the edging lace is knitted around.

This is a very good project for the moderately exerienced knitter. Uses 11 x 12.50 gm balls of Cobweb Ultra 1 ply wool with UK 10 (3.25 mm, US 3) circular needle 24" (60 cms) long.
