the ideal follow-on knit to the Angela Wrap. It explains in detail how to knit a shawl 'in the round' using a circular needle.
This very pretty lightweight lace knitted shawl - perfect for Summer evenings - is made in a pure Merino lace wool and features Shetland motifs with a modern twist, for example, the Razor Shell border is knitted in such a way as to appear as feathers in the design.
The shawl is started by knitting the framed centre then the border stitches are picked up and they are made in the 'knitted outwards' manner, so no sewing together!
Unusually for me, this is an un-edged shawl, the flat edged border is shaped into points as it is dressed. The finished shawl measures approximately 64 ins / 160 cm square. Uses: 3 x 50 gm balls of Merino Lace (c. 375 per 25gm ball). UK size 12/US 1/2.75 mm circular needles 40 / 60 cms (16/24ins) long.
