This 1 Ply Cobweb wool Bridal Shawl is approximately two metres / 72 inches square. It was made using a circular knitting needle with the centre square made first. Next, the stitches for all four borders were picked up from around the sides of the square and the borders knitted outwards. To finish, the borders' stitches were gradually cast off into the lacy edging as that was knitted round. Finally, the start and end of the edging strip were invisibly sewn together ('grafted').
