This project makes a very pretty lace wrap using traditional Shetland lace patterns, it can be made in two ways.
Both versions are started by knitting a long edging strip for 11 complete points, then gathered corner points are formed and stitches picked up from the straight edge to knit the centre (Version One) or border pattern (Version Two) on.
Next, for Version One, the wrap is knitted to the required length before the top edging is knitted along the centre stitches - corner points are again gathered for this. For the panelled second version, the Candlelight Pattern is knitted as two matching borders united by another lace, the Bead and Zigzag Stripe Pattern. Click image for wool colours.
Uses 3 x 25 gm balls of Merino Lace
Size is 22 ins x 60 ins 55cm x 150cm
