The Rosebud Shawl is a pretty piece of lace knitting, meaning that every 'other row' is plain knitting. This is a large shawl approx. 54"/135 cms square and uses traditional Shetland lace motifs in the design. This makes for a quick and relatively easy project, the centre is knitted first, then the borders knitted outwards, either all four at once (experienced method) or each border made separately ( easy method). Then the edging is knitted around.
Uses 5 x 25 gram balls of Shetland Cobweb 1 ply wool with British size 9 (3.75 mm, American 4) circular needle 24" (60 cms) long.
A good project for the moderately experienced knitter. Click on the image for a more detailed picture.
